Refund Policy

Last Updated: 1 June, 2025

  1. Introduction

This Refund and Billing Policy describes how billing and refund requests are handled for lookfor.
It applies to all lookfor charges that are accepted through the Shopify Billing system.

By installing lookfor and accepting the charge screen inside Shopify, you agree to this policy.

II. Billing through Shopify

All lookfor subscription and setup charges are processed through the Shopify Billing system.

During installation, merchants see a Shopify approval screen titled Approve app charges.

This screen clearly shows

  • the lookfor plan price

  • the trial period

  • the date on which billing will begin

When the merchant accepts this screen, all resulting charges are considered authorized inside Shopify.
lookfor does not create or run charges without this Shopify approval.

III. Trial period

lookfor provides a fifteen day free trial period by default. The length of the trial and the date of the first charge are always shown on the Shopify approval screen at the time of installation. If a merchant asks for a trial extension and lookfor approves it, the new trial length and billing date still follow Shopify rules.

At the end of the trial period, if the app remains installed, Shopify automatically issues the first charge according to the pricing that was accepted during installation.

IV. Custom setup and onboarding work

A core part of lookfor is custom setup and onboarding.

This can include for example

  • creation of custom agents

  • analysis of previous support tickets

  • configuration of automation flows

  • integration and account level configuration

This work requires significant time and expertise from the lookfor team. For this reason, all custom setup and onboarding work is non refundable once the trial period is end and the work is delivered. Fees that correspond to completed setup or onboarding work are not eligible for refund except exceptions on rare cases.

V. Subscription renewals

Subscription renewals follow the billing cycle that appears in the Shopify admin. If lookfor remains installed in the store, Shopify will issue the next subscription charge at the start of each new billing period, based on the approval that was given during installation. If a merchant does not wish to continue with lookfor, the merchant must uninstall the app from the Shopify store before the next billing date.

VI. Uninstalling the app stops future charges

Uninstalling does not cancel or reverse past charges for periods in which the app was installed and available, or for work that was already performed.

VII. Refund eligibility and limitations

Refunds are an exception, not a standard right, and are evaluated case by case under the rules below.

  1. The most recent billing period may be considered for a partial or full refund at the discretion of lookfor, for example where usage has been minimal.

  2. Earlier billing periods are not refundable, because they correspond to completed setup, onboarding, or active availability of the product.

  3. All custom setup and onboarding work is non refundable once delivered, even if the merchant later decides not to continue with lookfor.

  4. If the app has been uninstalled, refund requests for previous billing periods may be declined, since uninstalling confirms the decision to end the service.

  5. Refund requests must be submitted in writing and must include the Shopify store URL and a clear explanation of the request.

lookfor may decline any refund request that does not meet these conditions or that is inconsistent with this policy.

VIII. Chargebacks and disputes

Because all lookfor charges covered by this policy are accepted through the Shopify Billing system, merchants are expected to contact lookfor first to resolve any concern about billing.

If a bank dispute or chargeback is opened, lookfor will provide Shopify and the payment processor with relevant documentation, including

  • confirmation that the charge was accepted inside Shopify

  • trial dates and extension records where relevant

  • records of setup and onboarding work

  • records of app installation, availability and usage

  • communication between lookfor and the merchant about billing or refunds

IX. Policy updates

lookfor may update this Refund and Billing Policy from time to time.
The current version will always be available on the lookfor website.
Continued use of lookfor after an update to this policy will constitute acceptance of the updated terms.
